Via Fiume 12 – Pettinengo

Opening hours: reach out to www.sunuraghe.it

The museum is part of the Biellese museum network, hosting exhibitions on the “historic” migrants at local level, such as Piedmontese, Sardinian and Venetians. It tells the story of their hopes, hardships and adventures, their contribution to the development of societies which they became a part of, in spite of common prejudice and inevitable differences.

The museum is a place for encounter, comparison and memorythanks to the contribution of the local “Sardinian elsewhere”: this “Sardinia on this side of the sea” provides food for thought on the subject of identity, always a matter of choice.

Theexhibition is multidisciplinary: history, society and anthropology, art and science, all in constantly evolving. The Sardinian migration concerns people, art and culture.

The Migration museum of Pettinengo eclusively hosts the marble statue “The mother of the murdered” by Francesco Ciusa: until now, only the chalk and bronze copies were known.
